Hello, 2nd trimester.

Boy, am I glad to see you! Not that trimester 1 was THAT bad. I mean, I know so many people that have it way WAY worse, but how is it that even knowing that I've got it relatively easy, I still find myself whining and moaning at the slightest discomfort?

Speaking of which, I had about 3 weeks of BAD, all-day long nausea, but right around when I started taking prenatals (coincidence? who knows) the morning sickness died down a LOT. Since about week 7, I have only had to deal with a loss of appetite, and a few hours of "night" sickness in the evenings. Lost about 8 pounds over all since week 1, but seriously...I definitely had 8 pounds of 'extra' to lose, anyway. I've been at a steady weight since the morning sickness backed off, so I'm glad I don't have to worry about that as much as last time.

As for cravings? I don't have cravings. I mean...the things I want and love now are things I've always loved. Candy. Junk. Fruits and Veggies. (yah...black and white). There are some things I have acquired a dislike for, though. I don't like bread. I have been able to stomach a sandwich here and there without too much trouble, but I don't enjoy it. I also haven't been a fan of chicken. Burgers make me gag, but I LOVE steak. Steak and fries and onion rings, oh my! :) I'm going to have to watch out cause those 8 pounds (plus 50 more) are going to come right back in no time at this rate.

Another hard thing: the exhaustion. It doesn't help that I've got a ball of energy that I have to keep busy all day. Luckily, she has taken a liking to Madagascar 2, Kung Fu Panda, and Shrek 2 (the only 3 newer animated movies we own). And that usually keeps her pretty well entertained.

And if you've made it through reading all of that whining, then I applaud your efforts. Baby #2 is due to arrive May 5th. Heard the heart beat for the first time today, and saw the little tyke jumping around like a jumping bean on the ultrasound. Looking good! We couldn't be happier (as I'm sure you could tell from all my complaining).

Yay!

I've actually been wondering for a while if you were pregnant...with the lack of blogging, I just knew there had to be some other reason for your lack of motivation! I'm so excited for you, and can't wait to hear more! Congrats!!!
