The highlights.

I feel like I've been missing some milestones. Mostly for Noah stinker-pants, but also for Cami goose. I just want to go through some things that have been happening, for my own sake. :)

  • Cami has more good days than bad days lately. I think she might be coming out of her "terrible twos" to some extent.
  • Noah started crawling at almost exactly 8 months old.
  • He pulled himself up to standing for the first time about a week ago
  • Cami said her first full prayer last night (okay...we got her going with the 'Heavenly Father' part, but she did the rest)
  • Noah has officially snubbed his nose at baby food. He'll still let me feed him yogurt and the occasional apple cinnamon oatmeal blend, but even those happen less and less.
  • Which leads me to his favorite table-food. His absolutely favorite food is pizza crust. He will gnaw on pizza crust for a half hour if you let him. And then he'll do it again if you give him another. He also loves cheese and hot dogs and pears.
  • Cami no longer takes a regular nap. She will still take one on occasion, but we don't plan it in our day anymore. She is no worse for wear, and I actually really like this.
  • Noah recently starting taking a bottle! He will only take the Avent brand (well...of the three I've tried) and will not drink Similac. I'm still using samples of Enfamil and I'm hoping that he'll take the cheaper brands when that runs out.
  • Noah sprouted his first tooth (lower incisor) right at 8 months and the 2nd is just starting to poke through. It's nice to know his own personal teething symptoms so we know how to help him through it when he starts acting different.
  • Noah is incredibly fond of balls of any kind. He even knows how to 'pass' them to you. I think this is pretty cool, just cause when Cami got a ball at this age, there was no way we could get her to let go of it to pass it. She just wanted to keep it.
  • We've been doing a 'here and there' potty training thing with Cami. No pressure, etc. She knows how it's done, tells me every time she pees or poops in her diaper, and generally wants to be changed immediately. I think these are good signs. It'll probably be like everything else...I'll worry and worry and as soon as I stop worrying and let go, she comes around and decides she ready. So here's to not worrying...
I think that's it for now.  Thanks for listening. :)

With Potty training I did the same thing. I stressed and stressed and one day I told Blaine I give up (in front of Caylor). The next day he had no accidents, then he went a week and had like 2 accidents. Ever since then, he usually poos in his pull up, but he pees in the potty now. I think it really did take me not stressing and letting him chill out before he was willing to do it.
