Not the best test to miss...

Yah...so I've been MIA in the last two weeks or so. I haven't gone that long between posts since before Cami was born. Crazy. I can't hook up my camera's memory card to this computer, so no pictures until I get home, but here's a story to keep my devoted fans (yeah right) entertained. Any of you Dental Students (wives) will appreciate this especially.

So...Blair's a senior, right? And halfway through your senior year, you take your National Boards Part II.

Blair scheduled his back in August. We had our tickets for Utah bought, and figured he might as well take the test while in Utah. He was scheduled to take it on the 18th and 19th of December. The first day starts at 8am. We packed up Cami and headed to the University of Utah for him to take his test. We left at 7:10. (it takes about 40 minutes to get there) Guess what....

BLIZZARD. We were stuck on the Bangeter for close to an hour...then we finally got on the 15 and it was like it hadn't even snowed. He finally made it to the testing center at 8:45. Walks up to the guy, and he says:

"Sorry, you're too late"

"You're kidding, right" Blair says. (from now on, B=Blair, DG=dumb guy who couldn't have cared less)

DG: "Nope, you missed the 30 minute grace period."

B: "But I was stuck in a Blizzard."

DG: (this didn't happen, but could have) Guy looks out the window and sees ZERO snow.

DG: "Sorry...you're too late"

B: "Well, what am I supposed to do"

DG: "I don't know...you'll have to talk to the ADA"

B: "Who at the ADA?" (it's a pretty big organization, don't you know...)

DG: "I don't know"

B: "Well...what about my $340?"

DG: "I don't know, you don't pay me, I just administer the test"

B: "Well...do you have a phone number or anything?"

DG: "Oh, yah...let me see if I can get that for you."

So anyway, to make a long story short, he really did miss his test...had to jump through hoop after hoop to find the right person to talk to, fax her letters and proof of snowstorms and traffic on that day...etc etc, and at this point, we still don't know for sure whether he'll be able to reschedule the test WITHOUT paying another $340. It does look promising though, so we have our fingers crossed. Doesn't that just suck? And I don't use that word lightly.

That does suck, I am so sorry to hear that. Besides that I hope you all are enjoying your time in Utah with family. No snow here. It has actually been in the upper 60's. Crazy. Today it drops back down to the 30's. Guess everyone will get sick again.
