Just a few things

1. So...my next post after this one might be about a job... :) That's all I'm going to say about that.

2. Cami is mobile. No, not crawling. Scooting. (or what I like to call 'the worm') but she can pretty much get anywhere she wants to. She gets up on her hands and knees and then falls forward. She does this over and over until she gets where she wants to go. Oh, and She loves to get to the linoleum and put her mouth down and suck on the floor. No, I'm not okay with this, but it happens when I turn my back. Needless to say, I'm going to be vacuuming and mopping a LOT more often now.

3. We have started to transition off the baby food (at least as a primary source of nutrition other than milk) onto finger foods. I have to say that meal time has become much more of a production than before and is much more messy, but we do have fun. I still feed her a size 1 jar of prunes and half a thing of yo baby yogurt for breakfast (LOVE this stuff...it makes me feel good about what I'm feeding her when I am tempted to eat her food instead of feeling disgust toward what I am putting into her mouth. Oh, and it really helps with her b.m.'s) and I also use some of the level 3 dinners. She had the kind that smells an awful lot like spaghetti o's today for lunch (can't think of the name) and she LOVED it.

Stuff she loves: cheese cubes, whole wheat bagels, scrambled egg yolks, yogurt bites, baby goldfish crackers, bananas, avocado, and a few other things not coming to mind. I'd love to hear what else I should try...

4. I may start weaning soon. Not sure I have a choice on this one. I probably won't do it completely until she's [one] if I can keep her nursing for her early morning feeding (around 6am), but I'm thinking the other 2-3 feedings during the day will begin to be bottle feedings with mostly formula and some breast milk if possible. She just doesn't seem all that interested in me, and has suddenly taken a liking to bottles (don't ask me how this happened...) but I can seriously lay her on the floor and give her the bottle, and she'll feed herself. If you saw that post about her hating bottles a while ago, you'll know how surprised I am. I am mostly happy about this, but worried that the formula is going to cost a few toes (not quite an arm and a leg, but toes are important, too...). Hopefully she won't mind the Kirkland Signature stuff cause it gets good reviews and is a third the price of Similac (I'm still using the samples from the doctor and hospital).

5. Bath time has turned into "Get mommy as-wet-as-possible time." Cami sits up now and tends to ignore her toys and gets such a kick out of just plain old splashing. She LOVES it. And she gets more and more efficient at sending as much water as possible over the edge at me. I have started to drape a towel over myself. My glasses end up covered with water spots. I love it.

I remember those days so well. Cherish them, I can't believe they are gone for me. I loved nursing. I was sad when it ended. That's right when another one came along and I started all over. By the time Hannah was done I hated nursing, probably a blessing, she was 2 1/2, SICK! I can't believe I went that long. Once she could say "I want boo boo mom" I realized, something is wrong here! Love ya, Kristi

Elle really weaned herself at 9 mos. just too much else interesting...so I still tried nursing at night but the rest went to formula and from there it was easy...Hyrum on the other hand, well, let's hope I'm not nursing a 3 year old!
