Hello baby food...

I swore I wouldn't do the baby food thing until I absolutely had to. But...I change my mind pretty easily, and that's what happened in this regard.

It might have something to do with the fact that my Noah is eating at LEAST every 2 hours, and many times wants to eat every hour and a half during the day. He also recently started to wake up at night. Of course...for shy of 4 months old, waking up once a night is definitely not out of the ordinary, but still...when a baby goes from sleeping through to waking up, one has to wonder if maybe that baby is just getting hungrier, right?

I don't like the idea of putting cereal in a bottle, so I decided that if he didn't want to eat it off a spoon, then we would wait until he did. So...we gave it a try. I was quite surprised that he didn't try to push it out of his mouth first thing. He did really well! Cami wanted nothing to do with the stuff, and actually NEVER ate rice cereal or any kind of cereal for that matter. She went straight to fruits and veggies at 6 months. He's no pro, that's to be sure, but he will be in no time. He polished the whole bowl tonight. :)

Dude!? Do we have the same baby!? Abby did the same thing! She went from sleeping 8 hrs at night to waking up several times every night! I started her on cereal hoping it would make things better, and it didn't! She eats about every 1 1/2 to 2 hours, and was going through 6 or 7 5 ounce bottles a day plus a big serving of cereal at night and nothing changed. Finally, one night, I decided that I wasn't going to swaddle her or anything, I just gave her the paci and a blanket and laid her in the crib, and she has been sleeping like a CHAMP! I don't know if you read babywise, but if you do you should read babywise 2. Its a companion to the original but specifically covers starting at 4 months. Its insightful with lots of good ideas. And actually was what got me thinking that maybe it wasn't because she was hungry, but her bed habits that were making her wake up. Anyways...give it a try and if you ever need to talk something out give me a call!!! Im always willing to hear others ideas and try em out!

I should clarify...Abby drinks bottles, but they are breast milk bottles. Also, I wanted to let you know, I quit wearing an underwire bra and that helped with my clogs/mastitis ALOT, I would still get it, but not as common. So now, I have started taking a supplement, Lecithin, and it has made the HUGEST difference. If you are still having problems, try it out! You can get it at GNC.
